As Head of Marketing at ApprentiScope, Elizabeth Earin helps bridge the gap between workforce innovation and communication, empowering organizations to better share the value and impact of apprenticeship programs. With more than 20 years in marketing strategy and a personal connection to the skilled trades through her husband’s career as an electrician, she’s passionate about expanding access to career pathways beyond the traditional four-year degree.

Sunrun one of the nation’s leading home energy services providers who also work in battery storage and solar power has just launched a new apprenticeship program focused on upskilling its workforce and building a greater talent pool in the clean energy industry. President Biden recently projected that more than 900,000 skilled workers would be needed to achieve his clean energy target though the industry projects to reach only 400,000 by 2030.

“Sunrun has partnered with Guild Education, the leading education and upskilling platform, to help meet this demand and connect employees to opportunities for advancement by providing access to 150+ fully funded and flexible education and upskilling programs. These programs include bachelor’s and master’s degrees in areas such as sustainability management, electrical engineering, information technology, and environmental science; professional development and graduate certificates in areas such as sales leadership, solar installation, supply chain management, and data science; English language classes; high school completion courses; and a first-of-its-kind employer-sponsored electrician apprenticeship program.”

Sunrun’s new program hopes to jumpstart thousands of participants' careers by helping them prepare for the workforce and a stable career. Sunrun has also reiterated its commitment to diversity within the program as like look to recruit underrepresented groups within the industries workforce. From day one of a participant’s employment all employees will have access to an entire ecosystem of support that will help them receive their certifications as well as a traditional educational environment as well.
