Interactive Advertising Bureau, a digital media and marketing trade association recently announced the debut of what is thought to be the first-ever digital media apprenticeship in the United States. The program comes as a result of a joint effort from IAB Accelerate and American Apprenticeships Work in response to the lack of diversity within their programs. IAB has enlisted Jessalin Lam as the leader of these efforts making her responsible for designing and leading the training program something she has already done successfully with organizations like Nissan, The American Association of Advertising Agencies, as well as Asians in Advertising.
“We are committed to making a measurable impact on our industry’s representation and future of leadership. With the launch of IAB Accelerate, we are offering members the opportunity to create a more diverse talent force across the industry that will help lead us into the future of digital advertising.”
Jessalin Lam, VP of Member Development and Diversity
The Interactive Advertising Bureau has dedicated itself to the media and marketing industries helping them thrive in the digital economy. Its workforce is compromised of 650 leading media companies, brands, and the technology firms responsible for selling, delivering and optimizing digital ad marketing campaigns. The apprenticeship program will be open for all organizations to participate in and will make it easy for companies of every size to have an immediate impact. Leading digital marketing companies, agencies, and publishers throughout the industry will put Apprentices through an intense boot camp that will span a year and include on-the-job training in order to develop the knowledge and skills needed to perform the position of their choice.
