Simcoach Games located in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania has just announced the debut of their Game Development Apprenticeship following their approval from the Pennsylvania Apprenticeship and Training Office making them the first of its kind registered apprenticeship program in the state. Simcoach’s current game design professionals will help to train, guide, and support incoming apprentices as they progressively learn critical skills while simultaneously being paid on a progressive wage scale and with comprehensive benefits.
Participants will learn how to build purpose-driven games in sectors such as Healthcare, Education, Safety, and Personal Wellness. Successful completion of the apprenticeship program will include the apprentices earning the Unity Certified Associate credential.
“We see significant demand for gamified and virtual learning experiences from many sectors so being proactive in terms of building a local talent pipeline is a strategic imperative. As apprentices develop their production skills with our game development professionals, they will make active contributions to Simcoach while mastering the skills necessary for a career in the gaming sector.”
Brian Kaileida, CEO at Simcoach
Simcoach Games is currently accepting potential participants for the Game Development Program, and is urging potential candidates who have may have previous experience with software development work to apply. Though there are no requirements for game development experience or for a college degree. Simcoach’s game development apprenticeship program will build off the previous success of its inaugural game design apprenticeship where collaborative, hands-on, and project-based activities helped apprentices make real and valuable contributions to Simcoach’s product portfolio and game catalog.
Simcoach hopes that this new opportunity will help to benefit organizations looking to develop the next generation of employees for technical and digital careers. As part of its commitment to the Pittsburgh business community, Simcoach welcomes inquiries on how to best implement related technical instruction into a learning model of innovation and creativity and how that framework will help to prepare their participants for their future careers in the industry.
