Alabama Community College Launches New Tool and Die Apprenticeship Program

Wallace State Community College has partnered with the Industrial Maintenance Pre-Apprenticeship Program to launch a new Tool and Die registered apprenticeship program. The program joins a handful of other apprenticeship programs offered at the school including the FAME and Mercedes Tech programs who have also adopted the on-the-job-training model.

Wallace State Community College has partnered with the Industrial Maintenance Pre-Apprenticeship Program to launch a new Tool and Die registered apprenticeship program. The program joins a handful of other apprenticeship programs offered at the school including the FAME and Mercedes Tech programs which have also adopted the on-the-job-training model.

 

“We’re continuing to meet the needs of our industry partners, working to supply them with a pipeline of student candidates who are interested in earning a career in skilled labor. Students interested in this apprenticeship are eligible to have their tuition, books, and tools paid for, while also enrolled at Wallace State".

The Tool and Die team preps tools to go out to the presses as well as corrects any mistakes before they reach the final stage. The program curriculum lasts around five traditional semesters in which participants will practice welding which will then help them to earn an AAS degree in machine and tool technology.
