In a recent announcement, Manchester Community College and AppreticeshipNH are partnering with SolutionHealth, a regional healthcare network in southern New Hampshire to debut a healthcare apprenticeship program that will help pave the way for workers to advance their careers in the industry. The program will span across a 12-week period where participants will have the opportunity to earn while they learn.

To start apprentices will first have to complete eight weeks of full-time paid learning at Manchester Community College, following completion of those hours they will be asked to pass the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant National Exam. Once they pass the exam participants will then begin four weeks of rigorous on-the-job training at SolutionHealth where they will be given a chance to develop their skills in a real work environment.

“Staffing across the healthcare industry has faced serious challenges. Our ongoing partnership with the Community College System of New Hampshire is one example of how we are overcoming these challenges. We are just getting started — more opportunities are ahead in our work together.”

Leonard Pansa. Interim Chief Human Resources Officer at SolutionHealth

The introduction of this program comes at a vital time in New Hampshire’s workforce scheme as it will give the healthcare industry a significant boost. This apprenticeship program has the ability to help drive significant improvements to healthcare job opportunities in New Hampshire and through this process, the partnership between Manchester Community College and SolutionHealth will help fill these crucial worker shortages.

ApprenticeshipNH provides a number of Registered Apprenticeship programs in various industries, including manufacturing, automotive technology, business and finance, construction, hospitality, and IT. By partnering with many more businesses across the state, the organization has been able to help hundreds of residents find jobs within their field through on-the-job training and career advancement opportunities.
